Palm Pilot, A X10 Compatible TV Remote?
Hi. My name is Steve. Today I took possession of a new Palm Vx. The technical details can be found at http://www.palm.com/products/family.html, but I want to explain my experience to you.
I was very excited when I got the call from receiving, that there was a package for me. I have waited 4 weeks for my new toy. Quickly I unwrapped the box and plugged in the power and the serial cable. I popped in the CD, and the installation program went to work. It found my Microsoft Outlook profile, and I followed the prompts. While letting it charge for 4 hours, I read the included documentation. Very quickly, my brain was buzzing with ideas on how I could use this tool to be more productive, and have fun at the same time.
Oh, the joy of being organized. My task list is with me at all times, I'm no longer missing appointments, and I have lots of games to keep me entertained on the train ride home. This thing is so cool.

Bummer. Realized that I can't reply to a Microsoft Exchange user. Palm can't handle an exchange address. Internet mail is handled fine. Chapura, the makers of the PocketMirror sync software included with the palm, have no fix in sight. Pumatech, however, says their Intellisync software will work fine. Ordered a copy, will be in in a few days.
Installed Pumatech's Intellisync today. Set up an NT Server with IIS. Created a Intellisync mail account and Installed Intellisync under the exchange service account. After some problems getting the Intellisync services to start, and a new license file from Pumatech tech support, it finally fired up and I was adding users through the web interface. Tomorrow? Syncing mail, I hope. Keep your fingers crossed.
The sweet smell of success!
Awesome! Got the Intellisync Server communicating with the Exchange Server. Setup the user account through the web interface, and installed the Intellisync Client on the workstation. Did a HotSync. After about 4 minutes, it was finished (it downloaded an app to the Palm). Success. Now I can reply to an exchange user, as well as an internet user. Pumatech, You are the greatest!
