FAQ/Definition Page

Ethanol - Alcohol made from sugars and starches, used for fuel in gasoline engines.

Methanol - Also known as wood alcohol. Made from wood or fossil fuels.

SVO - Straight Vegetable Oil

WVO - Waste Vegetable Oil. SVO that's been run through a deep fryer. Can be filtered and heated in order to be used as biofuel in a diesel engine, or processed further and turned into biodiesel.

Biodiesel - vegetable or animal fats reacted with lye (usually NaOH but sometimes KOH) and an alcohol (usually methanol)

V100 - 100% Vegetable oil

V75K - 75% vegetable oil, 25% kerosene.

B20D - 20% Biodiesel, 80% Diesel

BCB's - Burnt Crispy Bits, the leftover bits of fryer pieces filtered out before WVO can be used for fuel.
