Beginnings
Stay tuned for the Geodesic Quonset Greenhouse that will be constructed soon to house the VeggieGen. The ambient heat from the Gen will be used to heat the greenhouse, dry our firewood, and keep the included shop warm as well. PJ Hafer, the inventor of the concept, and Steve Spence, Director of Green Trust, will construct and document the process of construction.
Lumber Ordered
Today we ordered the 1400 linear feet of 1"x6" that's needed for the construction of the Geodesic Quonset. Came to $260. Construction starting soon!

Struts and Hoops Construction
We have started construction on the hoops and struts. We will be assembling more hoops, and adding them to the starter hoop with the struts as we go along, extending the length of the quonset.

We are up to 8 hoops now. We strung a tarp over the section covering the veggiegen and fuel barrels to keep out the rain we had tonight. Progress is moving fast now.

Structure Completed
All the hoops and struts have been assembled and raised. The structure is complete. The only thing left is to skin the structure with plastic on the greenhouse sections, and plywood on the storage sections. Pics coming shortly....

We picked up two boxes of 16'x100' 6 mil plastic at $50 per box. A hacker took down our site, and we rebuilt it, but lost the pics. I have originals, and will repost them soon.

We finally installed the plastic covering on the GeoQuon. It only required one of the two boxes, so the rest will be used for closing in the woodshed and winter window coverings. Pictures coming shortly.
