WVO Burner
This it is my second try on
wvo burner, with the idea of using it after some improvement to boil the oil
and to clear the water on the process of production of biodiesel.
The idea come out after
reading about the Babington burner, thinking that it could be a good idea to
heat big amounts o oil with a cheap combustible.
There is 2 ways of firing the
oil, being this hot, or atomising it. Here I’m using the second way.

Explanation:
Compressor throws air through
the rubber tube to the taller tin, which it has at the bottom an orifice in
which we have introduced the metallic tube that stands some centimeters of the
bottom, this tin has other piece of metallic tube on the side that feeds oil,
and when this it arrives at the height of the overture of the tube on the bottom
it begins to atomise it, then we light fire and the burner starts, the small
tin we used it as support.

Instruction of assembly:
We look for 2 tins with same width, the taller will be the burner, and the smaller we will use it like support.

To the taller tin we do an orifice at the bottom and we introduce trough it a metallic tube to of few centimeters, this will work as injector. Air through it will atomise the oil, so if it is too wide it’s better to close the mouth a little using pliers so that the air comes out with more pressure. In my case I have welded it to the tin.

on the side i welded another piece of metallic tube, through it we will feed the oil.

we do two holes to the smaller tin, the one to be used as support, one on the bottom and another one on the side, we will pass the rubber tube through the hole on the side and we connect that rubber tube to the metallic tube we welded to the other tin. on the second photo we can seen how the tube is hooked.

we fit all pieces together, on the left side we can see the fridge compressor, a bit on the right on the first sink we can see, that I haven’t wash my dinner jet ;-) , on the next sink to the right we can see the burner fit together. On the right corner of the photo we can see the plastic bottle with the waste oil that is feeding the burner.

we start the compressor, the oil starts to be atomised, we light the fire and …

Improvements
to be done:
The first one to be done is to put al longest metallic tube to feed oil because the rubber tube is to close to the burner and it melts.
